This role is pivotal in supporting concrete projects from inception to completion, requiring a blend of concrete trade knowledge and excellent communication skills. The Assistant Concrete Superintendent will work closely with the Concrete Superintendent and construction managers to ensure projects are executed efficiently and to the highest standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the 30-day concrete look-ahead production schedule.
  • Anticipate and address the needs of construction managers to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist the Concrete Superintendent with day-to-day management tasks.
  • Coordinate with construction managers for required city and local government inspections.
  • Field technical questions and troubleshooting issues.
  • Utilize Plangrid for daily reports and reviews.
  • Generate concrete and formwork takeoffs.
  • Obtain quotes from material vendors and subcontractors.
  • Attend bid opening and pre-bid meetings as needed.
  • Attend site meetings and visit project sites to monitor progress and quality.
  • Submit and coordinate concrete ready mix orders and material deliveries.
  • Support the project closeout process, ensuring all plans, details, and inspections are in order.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably 5 years or more of concrete construction or related experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean DMV record.
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

  • Willingness to learn and undertake tasks as needed to support the team.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrated potential for leadership and ability to mentor junior team members.
